It is amazing how many nasty digs I have let people get away with over the years. Here is one of the few autographs in my autograph book which does not mock me in any way!
“He who drinks, gets drunk.
He who gets drunk, goes to sleep.
He who goes to sleep, cannot sin.
He who cannot sin, goes to heaven,
So let’s all drink and go to heaven.”
This was actually self-deprecating on his part as back then I didn’t really drink to the extent that when a guy had tried to slip me an alcoholic beverage instead of a tomato juice, I had become really upset and had refused to drink it.
It may have been him who bought me the vodka-laden delight. I don’t care. Looking back he at least had a good sense of humour. 😆
