“You shall know them by their fruit.”
Matthew 7 16-20
To my mind the main way to spot a covert narcissist is simply to look at the people around them. Are they like this:

Personally I am always suspicious of the long-suffering types. I mean I know my ex liked to portray himself that way, as did his mother.
I am not long-suffering. I fought my way through twenty years of marriage. I referred to him as a “jumped up little twerp.”
Personally I think I was being far too nice.
“LYING, CONNIVING SNAKE,” would have been more appropriate.
I don’t think covert narcs are supposed to do things like that.
I guess that means I will have all the little people on my case.( for calling him “a jumped up little werp)
“Sorry not sorry!”
I am offended that you all banded together to bully.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PUSH THE BUTTON IF YOU ARE OFFENDED,
The phrase “jumped up little twerp” would fit my brother quite well too. He is six feet tall btw, I always felt though that a tough woman might straighten him out.
Dad had always mistrusted my brother but I felt sorry for him and defended him. None of us really trusted him to be honest. The common phrase was. “Would sell his own grandmother.”
Twerp is a very British insult. We used to sing the song on the link at school too.
We also uses to sing a version of This!
