Living With Two Youngsters Helped Keep Me Open- Minded
My ex is now finally getting to do some of the fun parenting.(I suspect he may have outsourced it.)
I really hope I am always Young at Heart. I prefer that term to childish! However if you want childish, I can do that too!
Childish is when you run off and leave the hard “boring ” stuff to the other parent and need constant entertainment!
Substitute wife for waffle and you pretty much have my situation,
I am usually good with geeks. My relationship with the social group pretty much went down like this:

Even my ex mother-in-law apparently said of me,
“She makes up her mind about something and that’s it!”and no I was almost never interested in her advice!

I lived with the screwed up result of her parenting!
“Children are like pancakes. The first is always a screw up.” Great quote I heard somewhere.
I can say that as I am myself the eldest.
I usually do a small test pancake first.
Two -Year-Old Makes Pancakes
I make great pancakes. I add melted butter to a basic pancake recipe. Our youngsters can make pancakes too. It is one aspect where I do not take after my dear father whose pancakes had caused my brother to chunder/vomit in the cinema. 🤮
My ex’s pancakes were not much better! Like my son, he usually was too impatient and had the temperature up too high,
My ex father-in-law could also be pretty impatient. I had seen him really whack his granddaughter for interrupting the news!
I never saw him make so much as a cup of tea whilst he was with my former mother-in-law. He had offered once but we were all still waiting hours later. He happily made cups of tea etc while he was living with his girlfriend. Toxic people make you feel helpless and dependent.
Even a three-year-old can make lunch with the right tools and a little training.

I had a little chopper and a lovely little spreader wit a strawberry on the handle for the children to use.One example of Montessori Kitchen tools.
Personally I would go for good quality tools.
I loved the Montessori kitchen, it had made me want to be little again. I tried to make it so that the children could always make a healthy snack. Weetbix became a staple but one day my son had become intimidating when we had run out of milk so I made him responsible for the milk after that. He was in his late teens by then, When as young adults my two wouldn’t clear up their mess I had eventually banned Weetbix! Especially given my son’s forcefulness on the matter! I taught them both to clear up with miniature broom, dustpan etc, Toxic people disempower. I try to empower,
Everybody treated me like a monster when I did not hold the door open for the disabled child I was supporting but her confidence and agility had improved massively when she had been allowed the time to do things for herself.
I struggle at times to open jars. I have co-ordination issues. I buy myself tools to cope. I even bought our neighbour a jar opener when she had issues with her hands and was struggling.

I try to empower people and that included my ex. I can lean towards OCD myself at times but when I like things a particular way it is either because of safety or memory issues. I had somebody deliberately undermining everything I tried to do for two decades. It leaves its mark.
I think I already mentioned that my brother had also vomited down the front of our house and seen mum make him clear it up. I would love to have been there, He had also used to pee in Mum’s forsythia. I had never actually seen him do it!
I grew the tulips planted around the bush.

I taught my children to make their packed lunches but they could not be bothered to do it properly. Mum-in-law told me to put the children’s clothes ready for them on the bed!
I spent a whole day teaching them to sew on their own buttons too. I was really impressed with Lorraine Kelly who sewed a button on her clothes on live TV,

I tried to let my children choose their clothing for themselves! THIS RESULTED IN SOME OUTLANDISH CHOICES BUT I AM NOT OUT TO IMPRESS PEOPLE. I KNEW TOO THAT THE DAY WOULD COME WHEN EITHER ONE OR BOTH OF THEM WOULD STUFF UP AND MY DETRACTORS WOULD BR WAITING IN THE WINGS TO POINT FINGERS,

They both experimented with dressing like the opposite sex, I was into men’s suits myself for a while, Cara de la Vigne rocks men’s suits.
I almost always prefer wearing men’s tops! They are better quality too!
I will not allow anybody to disempower me ever again. NOT EVEN MY OWN SON!
Push me too far and I might be forced to use my superpowers! I have to perfect them still as I can only detect narcissistic bullies from this planet at the moment! Those of you from another planet are still in in luck!
