My father would often speak of his family’s struggles during The Great Depression. He would talk of Depression delicacies, such as bread and dripping. (fat) Another basic morsel which he would particularly enjoy, was bread and gravy. Here a delightful 91 year old remembers one of her family’s delicious meals, which had helped them survive The Great Depression. (Potatoes and hotdogs)

Unfortunately worse was to come. The end of the Great Depression had seen the beginning of World War 2. In recent years many mechanisms, which have helped ensure the world has enjoyed a prolonged period of peace, appear to have been systematically dismantled. However here at grass roots, we still have the future in our hands. (In more ways than one.) He’s Got The Whole World in his Hands
