One day we will look back on this era and have to explain ourselves to our children and grandchildren. We have made idols of abusive bullies.
Maybe people enjoy that the world stage seems occupied by so many of these people-until they end up on the wrong end of some of their behaviour. There is frankness and then there is just plain cruelty. Too many people are making a name for themselves by simply being offensive. Yes I am pretty frank about toxic people and their behavour but random nastiness, attacking people’s appearances, beliefs, colour etc goes beyond frankness. From my perspective it looks like deliberate sadism.
On the whole my grandmother was right.
