Hospital-acquired infections are now killing more people every year in the United States than die from AIDS or cancer or car accidents combined – about 100,000.

Apparently it is possible for hospitals to virtually eliminate something called central line infections,(and by extension possibly most hospital-acquired infections) as shown in the  video- Hospitals and preventable infections  which mentions how Roseville Medical centre went seven year in a row without central line infections.

A big factor in the death of my father was a hospital-acquired infection, so this video had particularly captured my eye today.


Here is a story about how a hospital-acquired infection impacted one patient’s life and the life of his family.
