Is that it now? By my calculations most people should by now at least be through Christmas Day itself. I have a confession here. I have had several close family members who have died on Christmas Day itself over the years, (ongoing health issues-not undercooked turkey), so it is usually a period of mixed feelings for me. I have always got into the spirit of things because I know that is what my loved ones would have wanted. I have known toxic others who have attempted to ruin special occasions for family and friends, because of some past sad event. I think even they would have trouble topping mine but mostly I manage to keep a sense of humour about it.
I mean Christmas Day. You have to be kidding me.
This one goes out to you Dad. I didn’t forget you. I just do what you taught me to do and get on with life. Every year I still remember how you were the first one down the stairs, agitating to open the presents and I love you for it.
