A world without malignant narcissism. Pondering how that might appear is virtually impossible. Selfish, self-absorbed individuals don’t even stand out. They hide in plain sight. We not only accept it, we frequently admire the totally self-absorbed.
We perhaps need to ask ourselves the qualities we wish to encourage and pay more attention to the people who genuinely display those qualities. Do we always want entertainment or do we want to see strength of character in our public figures? I remember Idi Amin and how we often found him amusing at the time. Only later did we finally learn of the full horror of the crimes he had committed. Larger than life characters might be fun to watch but they can also leave a trail of wreckage behind them.
The only way to win with a toxic person, is not to play.
